A Plus Kids was founded in 2015 to support children struggling in math and reading from the rural areas surrounding Rochester, MN. Thanks to community support and parent satisfaction. A Plus Kids expanded rapidly to meet the demand for its math and reading readiness courses. In 2016, the program’s success prompted a move to Bloomington, MN and a larger space to accommodate more students.
Likewise, we expanded our programs to address all contributing factors of the STEM discrepancy, including improving digital literacy and internet access.We partnered with internet provider Mobile Citizen to connect low-income families with affordable home internet service. This partnership has also enabled us to incorporate the most cutting-edge digital education resources into our after-school STEM and job readiness programs.
